A little bit about me? Well the nitty gritties are that I am a biologist by education, but I never pursued that line of work after I graduated, focusing instead on joyfully raising our small family. I came from a behind-the-curtain artistic-type family -my mother loves to paint and my father loved to take photos when we were small. His photographic abilities inspired me to learn more about the art when I was handed my first “How To” book from the 70s! Later I absconded my husband’s new Canon camera when we were first married and dabbled in taking outdoor and travel photos for several years (my poor and generous husband barely even saw the camera until I got my own!). It was when I met my friend and mentor Micheline Ryckman a number of years ago that I began to look seriously at taking photos. She uplifted me and gave me ideas and challenges and really began to nurture my abilities to grow from a seed

to a passion-tree!

So overall I would describe myself as an engaging and creative photographer, and I am now entering my second year of business on my own in Coquitlam! I have been photographing weddings for several years as an assistant to Ryckman Photography and Lara Merz Photography. My style is very natural and contemporary. I love candid, photojournalist-style photography, and bright and vivid colours mixed with classical black and whites. I love to let couples and families be relaxed and be themselves in front of the camera, so the photos are able to capture the feel and the dynamics of the relationship and bring back wonderful memories. My goal is provide my clients with not only beautiful and artistic heirloom quality photos, but to also capture an emotion and a moment in time for people to vividly remember.
