PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Portrait sessions (individual portrait, family, and maternity) are $125- plus PST.
I meet you at an agreed upon location, preferably outdoors using natural light, and sessions usually last between 1-2 hours. For destinations beyond a 40 minute drive from Coquitlam, a driving fee is added to cover travel costs and time requirements on my behalf.
What you receive: As well as a fun and enjoyable portrait session with me, you will receive 25-30 fully edited photos (to my taste and style) available online for you to order, as well as a complimentary photo sharing CD upon request (small files with my logo watermaked on them, not for printing but for sharing images with friends and family online).
Prints and Enlargements: Your photos are posted on my website under “Online Orders”. You will be given an access code that you can share with friends and family of your choice, and have within 1 year of the date of posting to order (after 1 year you can order by phone (604-464-8490) or email me at info@karendykephotography.com). What to wear? As far as what to wear it is completely up to you and your family, keeping in mind you will have these photos forever! I am a fairly casual person myself, and recommend similarly relaxed clothing. Coordinating colours usually result in the best photos, and layers are not only visually appealing, but also perfect to change up the photos, as well as prepare for inclement weather. Last it is best to avoid large logos or images, since they tend to distract the eye. Children look exceptionally cute in brightly coloured clothing!
To make your photos even more unique, try bringing along props. If you like guitar for example, bring it along! Or if you’d like some quarky photos how about some fake moustaches?! For children, why not order some helium balloons, or purchase some oversized lollipops to bring? Or a child’s favourite toy, a funky hat, or a fairy costume/brightly coloured skirt? The ideas are as endless as they are exciting!
What if I can’t make my session appointment? No worries! We are happy to reschedule, and require only 3 days notice before hand to accomodate.
I thank you for your interest and for viewing my site and images! If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me! I look forward to providing you a memory filled album soon!
Sincerely,
Karen Dyke
A side note on DVD images: I do not give away the DVD of my images and there are several reasons why. My images are a form of art, cultured and edited to my taste and style. The quality of the final images reflects directly on me as a photographer, which is why I print my photos professionally. I value my images! The print quality never varies from the original image, and will last a lifetime of being treasured by family and friends. Clients who buy the rights to the DVD can print their photos where they will, and can alter them from my original design, which means the images may not resemble the way I had intended them!
Second is that I am a small business, and rely on the sales of my prints and enlargements as part of my income! Just like 20 years ago in the days of film, nothing has changed! Photographers still need to be able to have a viable business! I DO however keep my reprint and enlargement prices VERY reasonable as mentioned above, so clients of all incomes can afford to treasure them as well.
